To celebrate mid autumn, and oh man... it really is mid autumn here. The temperature is dropping, the wind is getting up (i was walking in the park, and I noticed how nicely the willow trees were swaying in the wind), and the maple tree leaves have turned bright orange red and falling. And better still, in some roads, pink sakura flowers rain down from their large overhanging branches... all this is just so dreamy.. (cause it is... I just made it up....... hahas)
But in reality, to celebrate, I went to watch No Reservations! Omg... whoever said Catherine is getting old is JOKING.... she is still young and hot as ever... omg.. and her .... omg .. and her in the chef uniform.... its like the best of both worlds.. (just like the fantasy of a certain - dressed in certain - in a lambo spyder... and with strawberrys all over :P) hey lets not get carried away now. But yea, it was a superb show for me. And as always, love the kitchen and the story plot. Would have been perfect if the SOB china bastard infront would not talk so loud on his cell.. back home, someone would have probably asked him to STFU..... and then theres this bastard sitting beside me, constantly repeating phrases in english to impress his gf or what not.... (like STFU man.... your english is just fucking -CHOR-.. so just shove a fucking sock in it and let us enjoy the movie...) like wtf..ccb... i think your not just embarrassing yourself, you are embarrassing ur gf as well lar...... and what's infinitely worse, you're pissing me off and not allowing everyone else to enjoy the great movie.

oh yes, can someONE do something about the retarded picture showing up as HTML in the edit post box....SOMETIME (im sure you know who you are hahas.)

Very interesting......
Read out loud the text inside the triangle below.

More than likely you said, "A bird in the bush," and........
if this IS what YOU said, then you failed to see that the word THE is repeated twice! Sorry, look again.

Next, let's play with some words.
What do you see?

In black you can read the word GOOD, in white the word EVIL (inside each black letter is a white letter). It's all very physiological too, because it visualizes the concept that good can't exist without evil (or the absence of good is evil).
Now, what do you see?

You may not see it at first, but the white spaces read the word optical, the blue landscape reads the word illusion. Look again! Can you see why this painting is called an optical illusion?

What do you see here?

This one is quite tricky!
The words TEACH reflects as LEARN.

Last one.
What do you see?

You probably read the word ME in brown, but.......when you look through ME
you will see YOU!

Do you need to look again?

Test Your Brain
This is really cool. The second one is amazing so please read all the way though.

ALZHEIMERS' EYE TEST

Count every " F " in the following text:

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTI
FIC STUDY COMBINED WITH
THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS...

(SEE BELOW)

HOW MANY ?

WRONG, THERE ARE 6 -- no joke.
READ IT AGAIN !
Really, go Back and Try to find the 6 F's before you scroll down.

The reasoning behind is further down.

The brain cannot process "OF".

Incredible or what? Go back and look again!!

Anyone who counts all 6 "F's" on the first go is a genius.

Three is normal, four is quite rare.

Send this to your friends. It will drive them crazy! And keep them occupied For several minutes..!

Ok… this is going to be a food post, it’s a Friday (I posted this on notepad), and what more better things to do then to post on food and think of home (and mamemo and chips and charktiao and oh jian and and and …………)

Get this, tortellini was created because some guy peaked through the keyhole of a dimly lit room where a beautiful lady was changing… he only managed to see her belly button, but that was enough to inspire him to create tortellini !
Uncooked tortellini

Saffron has been dubbed THE MOST expensive spice in the world, with 450gms costing between SGD760 to 7,600, depending on the grade ! What the hell then makes this the worlds most expensive edible thread ??

First off, What is saffron ?
Saffron is basically a kind of spice commonly used in Indian as well as Mediterranean or European cooking. (atleast that’s what I think, I haven’t heard of Chinese recipes which use it. But I do know, one of my favorite dishes, Paella does use it :P though I highly doubt the one made by TCC uses it…..)

Saffron is used to flavour, colour as well as make dishes smell nice. It comes from the a flower. And here is why it is so gawd damn expensive. Get this – EACH flower, produces only 3 threads of saffron. It takes about 13,125 threads (that’s 4,375 flowers) to obtain about 28gms of saffron ! To obtain 450gms, it would take about 70,000 saffron plants produce. AND best of all, it is all hand picked hahas !

Now you know why…. Each packet of 450gms saffron plants would cost you about say SGD1,000 this amount would be used to hire numerous workers to pick AND tend to the 70,000 saffron flowers (and don’t forget that you are not the only one buying the spice, which would mean millions of flowers). Thinking about it, with all the hard work put into growing these threads (about 150 flowers for 1gm of saffron…), it is not that expensive after all…… so, the next time you eat a dish like paella or some dish which you know contains saffron (Hainanese chicken rice ?? lolz….) think of all the work AND acres of manure used to grow the 200+ flowers used in your dish !

The hihly priced (and prized) red-gold threads were considered as an aphrodisiac by kings and pharaohs, yet large amounts produce deathly narcotic effects. AND, Saffron has been used medicinally to reduce fevers, cramps and enlarged livers, and to calm nerves. It has also been used externally to for bruises, rheumatism, and neuralgia. (Warning! Do not use medicinally without consulting your physician.) hahas, imagine using SGD100 worth’s of saffron to relieve the nerves after a night out with loads of booze :P
Saffron is used to cook one of Kio Sai's favs - Paella :P

This post was inspired by the name of the restraunt of sam's website project :P As well as some packaging I came across during my work place (I deal with alot of empty packaging like tomato sacue, speghetti sauce, Heinz baby food etc.. instant tortellini, and I so happened to be hungry when I saw the picture on the package and hour before works end:P)

Actually posted this on my own blog, but I think too harsh, scarely tio caught :P hehe Im taking refuge here

A nightmare you cannot wake up from...... just on thursday night, a close friend asked me to describe what "home sickness" felt like ..... and that was my answer. I have left home for only like one freaking week, and already I am feeling that....

My job now is a freaking day to day affair... I put in charge of making sure that customers get their samples and on time, which requires daily following up, that to me is alright, but theres is anohter freaking assignment... like fark lar, whats up with company's wanting to make nice their introductory powerpoints... they want me to make something like a video or what, to replace their supposedly boring powerpoint presentation (I haven't really seen it yet), like Im not a film and media studies student yar..... and you want me to add in animations and videos... damn sian TOTALLY...

Anyways, being in the OIAP programme, I have learnt to appreciate the little pleasures of life. Why I say this is a nightmare I cannot get out of. Obviously, other then on the weekends, my life seems boring and sad, I go to work early in the morning, finish at 530 AND if I am in the mood, i can walk around somewhere, though given that this place is not really modern... there isn't really much nice places to go to. If not, I will return "home"... at home, its either reading a book (How to manage stress, thanks to SJH) or watching some movie... and goddamn.... the food.... THE FOOD... the canteen food sux! but i guess its just cause Im spoilt or what ba.... if the managers can eat it so can I ...... so like llooking forward to lunch menu (like what i did on somedays in OITP is not an option....

Little pleasures like interacting with people (GIRLS!) the same age or closer to my age and to my thinking I really miss... I mean, think about it. Even subtle flirting or joking to friends, I can no longer as and when I like... I miss looking at you all (not in a gay sense for the guys) and I miss the sound of your voices... HOW FARKING much I would really like to see, smell, hear, touch you all .... Gawd damnnit... Ive like flipped through the pictures a dozen times.. but all pictures really are are just static... I really understand the true value of friends in times like this... I have totally no regret, meeting up with my old classmates at MS that day although I did not eat. I even did not regret spending time with the ppl at comex, even if it was for just 30mins to watch them eat their dinners. Its in times like this that I really understand what it means by (what matters is the company you are with, not the things you do).

Im like basically living day by day now, I do put in utmost effort in my work, however, its has now become a routine, just like school. However, in school you have got friends who think AND speak on similar wavelengths, here I don't. I can't like sae "CCB" or go f*** yourself, or go like "hey, that girl chio anot"..... those really ARE little pleasures which I neglected :P.... (don't get me wrong, I never neglect me friends, "or did I"?)... Anyway, I managed to successfully meet xian liang today (hahas last time when I was in shen zhen, we nearly met, but failed :P) but thats another post and with the pictures. I look forward to meeting da jie if possible, and perhaps my OITP buddy over the china national day holidays.

Everybody feels the same way I feel, the grass probably always looks greener on the other side, but I guess its what we do NOW that means anything at all...
